Responsibilities
The Underwriting Assistant supports the Underwriting team by providing administrative and operational assistance to ensure efficient processing of insurance submissions, policies, and related documentation. This role partners closely with underwriters to help manage workflow, maintain accurate records, and support service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support to underwriters and underwriting teams.
- Assist with processing new and renewal business, including data entry and documentation.
- Prepare, review, and maintain underwriting files and policy records.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of submissions and underwriting documentation.
- Respond to inquiries from internal teams, brokers, and clients as directed.
- Support issuance of policies, endorsements, and related materials.
- Track and manage workflow to meet deadlines and service standards.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with reporting, filing audits, and other operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of administrative or insurance-related experience preferred.
- Experience in underwriting support or insurance operations is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Customer service orientation and professionalism.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full-time regular employees which for this role includes:
Base Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000
The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
Eligible to participate in the annual discretionary bonus program.
