Our client is hiring a Senior Catastrophe Analyst for a hands-on, senior individual-contributor seat. You will balance recurring portfolio reporting with targeted portfolio and catastrophe-risk analysis. The company is also investing in AI and data transformation, so you will have room to build better workflows, not just run existing ones.

You will own your deliverables from start to finish. When management, reinsurers, or other stakeholders have questions about the portfolio, you will be the person with the answer.

What You Will Do

  • Own recurring portfolio reporting and deliver it on schedule.
  • Run targeted portfolio and catastrophe-risk analyses on commercial property business.
  • Interpret modeled results and explain what they mean for the business in plain terms.
  • Analyze portfolio movements and concentrations, and investigate material changes in modeled loss.
  • Reconcile complex datasets and follow every discrepancy through to resolution.
  • Respond clearly to questions from management, reinsurers, and other stakeholders, including Lloyd's and ASTA reporting requests.
  • Build queries, workflows, and automation that make the team's analysis faster and more reliable.

What You Bring

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in commercial property insurance, reinsurance, exposure management, catastrophe modeling, or portfolio analytics.
  • Direct commercial property portfolio, exposure management, or catastrophe risk experience.
  • Personal ownership of recurring analytical or reporting deliverables. We are looking for work you owned, not work you supported.
  • Hands-on skill in SQL, Python, or comparable analytical tools.
  • Strong data reconciliation and quality control skills, with a record of chasing discrepancies until they are resolved.
  • The ability to turn technical and modeled results into clear business implications.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote, senior individual-contributor role.

Helpful Experience

  • Moody's RMS, Verisk, or a similar catastrophe modeling platform.
  • Lloyd's, ASTA, regulatory, or reinsurance reporting.
  • Exposure management or portfolio monitoring platforms. TigerEye is a plus.
  • Model version, assumption, or sensitivity comparisons.
  • APIs, cloud data platforms, version control, and responsible use of AI-enabled tools.

What We Look For in Interviews

Strong candidates can give specific examples of:

  • A commercial property portfolio analysis they led.
  • A material modeled-loss movement they investigated.
  • Recurring reports they personally delivered.
  • A difficult reconciliation they resolved.
  • Analyses, queries, or workflows they built using SQL, Python, automation, or AI-enabled tools.
