Insurance Agent – Personal & Commercial Lines
A well-established insurance agency serving the Evanston/Chicago market is hiring a Personal and Commercial Lines Insurance Agent. This is a producer role built for someone who wants uncapped earning potential and a real path to ownership, not just a paycheck.
The agency has the book, the reputation, and the infrastructure. What it needs is someone hungry enough to build on it.
Compensation & Benefits
- $50,000 base salary
- Uncapped commission — no ceiling on what you can earn
- PTO
- Dental insurance
- 401(k)
- Fast track to agency ownership, satellite agent status, or a second office for producers who prove they can build and sustain a book
What You'll Do
- Sell and cross-sell Personal Lines (auto, home, umbrella) and Commercial Lines (BOP, general liability, workers' comp, commercial auto) to new and existing clients
- Build your own pipeline through networking, referrals, and community presence in the Evanston/Chicago area
- Consult with clients to identify coverage gaps and recommend the right policies for their risk profile
- Maintain and grow renewal business through strong client relationships
- Partner with carrier underwriters to quote, bind, and service policies efficiently
- Track activity and pipeline in the agency management system
What You Need
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license in Illinois (or ability to obtain quickly)
- Insurance sales experience preferred — Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, or both
- A track record of hitting or exceeding production goals, or a demonstrated ability to build relationships and close business
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to have real conversations about risk and coverage
- Self-starter mentality — this role rewards people who create their own momentum
- Familiarity with the Chicago/Evanston market is a plus but not required
Why This Role Is Different
Most agent roles cap you at a commission split with no real upside beyond the number on your paycheck. This one is structured for producers who want equity in their future. If you build a book that proves you can run it, the agency will back you into ownership, a satellite office, or a second location under the same brand.
This is a seat for someone who wants to build something, not just fill a quota.
Years of experience
- 1 - 2 years of experience
Salary range
- $50,000 - $150,000 per year
