Our client is a global specialty carrier serving the marine, cargo, transportation, and logistics sectors, including ports, terminals, transport operators, and above rail. They are hiring Claims Attorneys to handle a bodily injury and personal injury heavy caseload and to support client relationships and business development.

You will report to the Regional Claims Director, manage claims and litigation within your authority, and act as a trusted technical resource for clients and brokers.

What You Will Do

  • Handle a caseload of complex claims, with a strong focus on bodily injury and personal injury matters and the litigation that comes with them.
  • Provide technical support and strategic advice on claims within your assigned authority.
  • Deliver a consistently high-quality claims service to clients and brokers in your region.
  • Manage client accounts and build lasting relationships with clients, brokers, and service providers.
  • Work with the underwriting and marketing teams to retain current clients and grow the membership.
  • Help develop new business and retention targets.
  • Review contracts as needed under the Regional Claims Director's supervision.
  • Report claims issues to the Regional Claims Director as required.
  • Mentor junior team members and help deliver training to claims and underwriting teams.
  • Support the loss prevention team's work with clients.
  • Travel to visit clients, brokers, and vendors, and present at industry events.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of claims handling and litigation experience, gained at a carrier, MGA, broker, or in private practice.
  • Strong bodily injury and personal injury claims and litigation experience. This is the priority.
  • Background in marine, cargo, transportation, logistics, ports, or terminals is a strong plus.
  • Law degree and active bar admission.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and listening skills.
  • Stakeholder management skills and sound business judgment.
  • An analytical mindset, critical thinking, and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Awareness of the current regulatory and compliance environment.
  • Willingness to travel to meet with clients, brokers, and service providers.

What You Get

  • Base salary of $140,000 to $200,000 in Jersey City and San Francisco, $140,000 to $175,000 in New Orleans
