Working alongside underwriters, risk consultants, claims professionals, and multinational specialists, you will evaluate complex exposures, develop tailored insurance solutions, and build profitable portfolios in a dynamic marketplace. AIG'summerInterns are immersed in the day-to-day operations of a fast-moving, global insurance company.During the9-week program,you will gain valuable, hands-on experience and insurance industry knowledge,workingwith leaders on dynamic projects, withplenty ofopportunity for challenges,learningand achievement.

ummerInterns join one of ourkeybusinessteams, whichoffersa unique opportunity to obtain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse environment. In addition tomeaningful on-the-job experiences,interns will join instructor-led masterclasses,hear directly from seniorleaders, and build meaningful connections through mentoring circles, networkingeventsand volunteering.

Following completion ofthe internship program, interns may be considered for a role in the location where they completed their internship, with the Analyst program beginning in July 2028.

Responsibilities

  • Support the evaluation and underwriting of risks across Inland Marine, Ocean Cargo, Marine Liability, and related specialty products.

  • Review underwriting submissions, exposure information,losshistory, and other relevant data to support riskselection, pricing, and coverage decisions.

  • Partner with underwriters, risk consultants, claims professionals, and multinational specialists to develop tailored insurance solutions.

  • Build relationships with brokers and clients while supporting new business, renewals, and profitable portfolio growth.

  • Analyze market trends and emerging risks related to transportation, global trade, and commerce to support underwriting decisions.

  • Develop technical knowledge of marine insurance while building analytical, decision-making, and relationship-management skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master'sdegree to be received no later than June 2028 (unofficial transcriptrequiredupon application).

Program Requirements

  • Available for the complete Summer Internship Program from June 7 through August 6, 2027.

  • Summer Intern positions are in-person opportunities, requiring interns to work in the office at least four days per week.

Core Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.

  • Abilityto collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred majors include Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, ora related field.

  • Demonstrated interest in global trade, transportation, commercial insurance, or risk management.

  • Interestin evaluating complex exposures.
