Mortgage Insurance Mortgage Servicing MI- Claims Manager Job Opening
JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT: The purpose of the Manager of Claims is to direct the claims and default expense-processing staff responsible for accurate and timely loan liquidation, loss recovery from investors and mortgage insurance companies and default expense processing. Liquidations, recoveries and default consist of REO and redemption sales, third party foreclosure sales, loss mitigation compromise sales, delinquent loan sales, NSF on PIF loans, settlements, litigation and loan charge-offs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Direct the daily management of the claims and default expense staff and processes. *Oversee the Claims staff of the processing of incoming wires, sale proceeds and refund checks used to liquidate the loan. *Responsible for timely submission of initial and supplemental claim filings within 30 days to Investors and MI Companies. *Effectively coordinate the identification of non-recoverable items approving the write-off request to the appropriate departments. *Approve the claims general ledger entries assuring the timely reimbursement of loan level advances and Investors bank accounts. *Oversee the claim's staff daily teller activity reconciliations for accuracy ensuring all exceptions are researched and resolved in a timely manner. *Complete management requested department reporting on claim and expense processing activity. *Maintain quality business relationships with all assigned external vendors and internal dapartments. *Supervise default expense processing staff in the timely payment of default invoices within established guidelines and procedures. *Monitor the new invoice and REO Insurance file transmission results to insure timely and accurate payment and disbursement of approved items. *Report pertinent information to senior management as it pertains to company risk.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: *Maintain, monitor and accurately enter personal time and absences in Etime for department employees. *Provide Human Resources with appropriate paperwork and information on employee's attendance. *Additional responsibilities as required by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: *Responsible for the individual assistance, growth and development of team members. *Prompt and accurate responses on questions from team members, investors, vendors and/or borrowers.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: *High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Experience: *Minimum 5-years mortgage servicing experience. *Previous staff supervisory experience. *Knowledge of accounting procedures. *Knowledge of overall default servicing. *Prior investor and MI Claims experience preferred.
Computer Software Skills: *Outlook *Word *Excel *PowerPoint *Access *MortgageServ system experience desirable.
Other Skills: *Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Strong supervisory skills overseeing day to day management and operations of support staff. *Proven problem solving ability. *Proficient computer skills.
